Activity



PolyUSotel provides a series of activities within a supporting environment and to help you get familiarized with fellow students, teachers, university life and some essential learning skills.
While you may interact with other participants in the PolyUSotel at your own discretion, we have scheduled a series of interesting activities requiring your active participation and completion of learning tasks.  There are chances for you and your team members to be rewarded real and virtual gifts upon completion of missions!!

Below is a list of topics and activities.  Rewards (virtual gifts or credits) will be given to participants if the mission is completed at or within a specific time.

Individual Activity I: Learning Style
Brief: Identify students’ personal learning style and recognize the matching learning strategies.
Set personal learning goals and recognize similarities/differences between students.

Brief:

Recognizing students’ unique strengths and abilities.

Individual Activity III:

Active / Passive Learner

Brief: Learn and Recognize what is active learner and what is passive learner.
Individual Activity IV: Academic Honesty
Brief: Recognize how to avoid plagiarism in study.
Individual Activity V: Essential skills for Group Work
Brief: Learn and Practice how to design a comfortable hotel guest room.
Individual Activity VI: Classroom behavior
Brief: Learn to apply professional standards in the classroom.
Individual Activity VII: Referencing
Brief: Learn to how to reference in text for assignment.
Group Activity I: Parachute Flying Competition
Brief: To land on certain position to gain different amount of score. The player with the highest score will win the game.
Group Activity II: Have Fun around Second Life
Brief:

To pass through all the rings in the shortest time. The player used the shortest time to pass through all the rings will be the winner.

Group Activity III: Shopping Tour & Best Fashion Competition
Brief: Provide camping area for students to earn and encourage their participation on the island, as well as to bring them around SL for self decoration, and to participate in the best fashion competition for “Most Interesting”, “Most Beautiful & Handsome” and “Most strange”. The major objective is for FUN.
Group Activity IV: Meeting with Professors
Brief: Provide meeting chance for students to communicate and interact with teachers before the semester, so as to give them a chance to know more about their study and solve any other question they have on our school or the University.
